Beijing, February 26th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with a delegation of friendly personages from Bangladesh led by Abdul Moyeen Khan, Member of the National Standing Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Sun said, sharing a long-standing friendship, the two countries have always maintained stable development of bilateral relations no matter how the situation changes. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh, and is also the China-Bangladesh Year of People-to-People Exchange. The CPC is willing to deepen friendly exchanges with political parties and all sectors of Bangladesh, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, promote practical cooperation in various fields, enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and work together to push China-Bangladesh relations for continuous development. China supports Bangladesh in exploring a development path that suits Bangladesh's national conditions and is willing to continue to offer assistance to Bangladesh's economic and social development within China's capacity.
Members of the delegation expressed sincere gratitude to China for the long-term selfless help and support to Bangladesh in infrastructure construction, industrial transformation and international and regional affairs. At present, Bangladesh is promoting national transformation and is committed to building a "New Bangladesh". All sectors of Bangladesh are eagerly looking forward to China's continued support for its reform and development, and are willing to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the China-Bangladesh Year of People-to-People Exchange as an opportunity to continue the traditional friendship and further deepen exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields between the two sides.
