Beijing, February 27th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with Majintha Joseph Priye Jayesinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China.

Sun said, China and Sri Lanka are strategic cooperative partners with sincere mutual assistance and ever-lasting friendship. In January this year, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who was on a state visit to China, and reached important consensus on jointly building a China-Sri Lanka community with a shared future. Various departments of the two countries, including the IDCPC, are stepping up implementation efforts. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with all political parties in Sri Lanka, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance, promote pragmatic cooperation through inter-party channels, and push the construction of a China-Sri Lanka community with a shared future for more substantial and in-depth results.

Majintha Joseph Priye Jayesinghe expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chinese side for its long-term valuable support for Sri Lanka's national independence and economic and social development. He said, President Dissanayake's visit to China achieved fruitful results, bringing new development opportunities to the friendly cooperation between Sri Lanka and China. The Sri Lankan side is making every effort to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and is willing to work closely with the Chinese side to strengthen dialogue and exchanges at all levels between the two countries' political parties, parliaments, and the public, deepen cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, agriculture, energy, and people's livelihood, and continuously push Sri Lanka-China relations to new highs.
