Guiyang, November 19th—The "China in Sight, Global Insight" Forum 2024 was held here today. With the theme of "Deepening Reform and Opening-up to Create Synergy for Global Development", the event was organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee. Liu Jianchao, Minister of the IDCPC, Xu Lin, Secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, and more than 200 people from all walks of life at home and abroad, including representatives of political parties, think tanks, enterprises and media from 50 countries including Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore, Egypt, Nigeria, Brazil, Peru, Russia, the Czech Republic, the UK, Italy, the US and Australia, attended the event.

Liu said in his speech that the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee was successfully held in July this year, making important arrangements for further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization. The reform and opening-up initiated over 40 years ago has profoundly transformed China and exerted a lasting influence on the world. In the new era, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China's reform and opening-up has made major practical, institutional and theoretical achievements. With the further development of the arrangements of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, China will surely move forward into the future and benefit the whole world in deepening reform comprehensively, and provide new opportunities for the development of the world with the new achievements of Chinese modernization. China will expand market access and turn its vast domestic market into opportunities for the world. China will promote global openness and cooperation and advance global trade and investment. China will actively safeguard world peace and create a favorable environment for development. China will strengthen exchanges and mutual learning and contribute wisdom to world modernization. Yesterday, at the 19th G20 Summit, President Xi Jinping announced China’s eight actions for global development. China will work with other countries to fully implement the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Xu said, the historical changes of Guizhou in the new era exemplify the provincial-level implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era. It is also a microcosm of the great strides made in the development of the CPC and China since the 18th CPC National Congress. As an inland province without access to borders, coasts, or major rivers, Guizhou’s achievements owe much to the reform and opening-up. Accelerating high-quality development in the region necessitates deepening reform and expanding opening-up. Today, Guizhou is accelerating the construction of comprehensive channels for opening-up, advancing broad-based international cooperation, and continuously optimizing its high-level opening-up environment. On its new journey, Guizhou will coordinate efforts to drive deep-level reforms, promote high-level opening-up, and achieve high-quality development, striving to write a new chapter of Chinese modernization in Guizhou. Guizhou will focus on building platforms for economic and trade cooperation to advance shared prosperity, fostering platforms for people-to-people and cultural exchanges to enhance openness and inclusiveness, and establishing platforms for ecological dialogue to promote a cleaner and more beautiful environment. Together with all parties, Guizhou aims to create a better future and contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

The foreign guests at the forum spoke highly of China's great achievements in reform and opening-up and its important contributions to the world, and expressed their willingness to strengthen exchanges with the Chinese side, deepen mutual understanding and promote the building of a better world. Ata Serdarow, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, said the topic of reform holds profound practical significance, impacting the development of every nation. All countries should strengthen exchanges and discussions on reform and strive to achieve common development. Bhokin Bhalakula, former President of the National Assembly of Thailand, noted that in today's interconnected world, our decisions will affect our common future. Standing at a new crossroads, we should choose dialogue, openness and common development instead of division and isolation. The Thai side welcomes the key initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping at the G20 Summit. Assih Atissim, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Union for the Republic of Togo and member of the national executive board, said that China has achieved leapfrog development under the leadership of the CPC, and Togo and other African countries are willing to learn from China's experience in reform and opening-up and explore the path of modernization that suits their national conditions. C. P. Mainali, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist–Leninist) and former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal, said that the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee made an important decision to further deepen reform comprehensively and advance Chinese modernization, which will not only draw a blueprint for China's future development, but also bring important opportunities to other countries. Adrian Severin, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister of Romania, said that today's international situation is undergoing profound and complex changes, with neoliberalism reaching its limits. China, as one of the world's major countries, is fully capable of creating a different way of development, maintaining Chinese characteristics in development and providing a new vision for the world.

The representatives from home and abroad also held in-depth discussions on topics such as "high-level opening-up and new opportunities for development", "new quality productive forces and global sustainable development", "modernization of developing countries and global modernization", and held special dialogues on "China's deepening reform and opening-up and global win-win cooperation" and "severe challenges and solutions for world peace".
