Liu Jianchao Meets with Sardor Umurzakov, the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Special Assignments

Beijing, February 24th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Sardor Umurzakov, the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Special Assignments and Chairman of the Committee for Coordination of Analysis and Research under the President.

Liu said, President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev provided strategic guidance and inexhaustible impetus for the development of bilateral relations. China and Uzbekistan, both important members of the Global South, advocate the spirit of independence, have a long and splendid civilization, and are committed to maintaining regional peace, stability and prosperity. At present, China and Uzbekistan are both at a critical stage of national construction and national rejuvenation, and the development of bilateral relations has also ushered in new historical opportunities. China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continuously promote bilateral all-round cooperation for more high-quality results, and push the bilateral community with a shared future for more substantial and in-depth development.

Liu said in the face of the current complex international situation, the CPC is willing to strengthen institutional exchanges at all levels with political parties of Uzbekistan, deepen experience exchanges in party building and state governance, and further build a solid political foundation for mutual trust between the two countries. Liu called on both sides to advance practical cooperation in various fields through channels such as "political party +", promote the integration of the development strategies of the two countries and the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. China is willing to strengthen international coordination with Uzbekistan, make good use of platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Political Parties Forum and China-Central Asia political parties dialogue, and jointly implement the three major global initiatives. The IDCPC is willing to strengthen institutional exchanges and cooperation with the Committee for Coordination of Analysis and Research under the President.

 

 

 

Umurzakov said Uzbekistan and China are close and reliable good partners. Uzbekistan cherishes the friendly relations between the two heads of state, especially the new important consensus reached at the meeting between the two heads of state in January last year, which guided the high-quality development of Uzbekistan-China all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era. The delegation visited the Museum of the Communist Party of China and learnt the CPC's tremendous development achievements in uniting and leading the Chinese people in various fields. China's successful experience in poverty reduction and industrialization is of great reference to Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan supports all global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, takes delight in China's greater role in international affairs, and fully supports the work of China as the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It is willing to strengthen exchanges at all levels with China, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance, strengthen cooperation in areas such as party building, cadre training, and dialogue among civilizations, and jointly push bilateral relations for greater development.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
