Beijing, March 6th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Andrei Artizov, Head of the Federal Archives Agency of Russia.
Liu said under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation for the new era has reached to a new height. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Russian side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and deepen the all-round strategic cooperation between China and Russia. Archives are a true record of history and an important carrier of a country's history and culture. As an important part of China-Russia cultural exchanges, archival cooperation is of great significance for protecting and inheriting the cultural heritage of the two countries and continuing the traditional friendship between the two peoples. The IDCPC is willing to continue to promote archival cooperation between the two countries through inter-party channels.
Artizov said, Russia and China maintain good cooperation in archive preservation and sharing. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in the Great Patriotic War and victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. The Russian side is ready to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side and commemorate history through the display of precious historical archives. The Federal Archives Agency of Russia is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples.
