On November 27th, the third China-Arab States Young Leaders Forum was held in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. Themed on "contributing youth power to building a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new Era", the forum was co-organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee. About 200 people were present at the event, including representatives from political parties, governments, think tanks, media outlets, universities and enterprises from 21 Arab states, as well as representatives from all walks of life in China. Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, presided over the opening ceremony.

Liu said in his keynote speech that the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum was successfully held in Beijing this May. President Xi Jinping and leaders of Arab states attended and delivered important speeches, proposing that China and the Arab states should jointly build the “five cooperation frameworks”, drawing a grand blueprint for the development of China-Arab relations. The purpose of holding the China-Arab States Young Leaders Forum is to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Arab states and to contribute youthful energy to building a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era.

Liu noted that the traditional friendship between China and Arab states spanning thousands of years is inherited by young people, the wonderful stories of China-Arab cooperation are written by young people, and the bright future of China-Arab relations is created by young people. In today's era, hope and difficulties coexist, just as opportunities and challenges do. The young people of China and Arab states should help each other and be the guardians of peace and security; cooperate closely to be the promoters of mutual benefit and win-win; learn from each other and be the promoters of civilization exchanges. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Arab side to continue to align development strategies and intensify cooperation in the Belt and Road cooperation, and other fields; to implement the three major global initiatives and write a model for mutual learning among different civilizations in the new era; to jointly promote changes in global governance and advocate for an equal and orderly multipolar world to build a more equitable and just future for the next generation.

Wang said that currently Guangdong is conscientiously implementing the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and important instructions during his inspection of Guangdong, anchoring the overall goal of “being at the forefront” and striving to activate the “three major driving forces” of reform, opening up, and innovation, constantly bringing new imputes and new opportunities to the world with its own new development. As one of the earliest birthplaces of the Maritime Silk Road, Guangdong has had close exchanges with Arab states as early as the Tang and Song Dynasties. We sincerely hope to continue to deepen cooperation with Arab states in the fields of economic and trade investment, technological innovation, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges. We welcome young friends to experience the development vitality and surging power of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strive to contribute the strength of Guangdong and the power of youth to the construction of a community with a shared future for China and Arab states.

Foreign guests attending the forum said that Arab-China friendship has lasted for thousands of years and has become the cornerstone of the continuous development of bilateral relations. They congratulated the CPC on leading the Chinese people to achieve great achievements in economic and social development. China's success has provided the world with a new choice. Youth are the promoters of national change and development. The young people of Arab states and China should strengthen exchanges, learn from each other, and jointly open up broader prospects for Arab-China relations. Saad El-Din said that Arab states and China share similar values and concepts and should jointly oppose hegemonism, work together to address global challenges such as climate change, and promote the construction of a more just and reasonable new international order. Abu Al-Ghaith noted that the Belt and Road cooperation is a model for cooperation between Arab states and China. Chinese modernization provides important references for the Arab side. Both sides should further deepen political party exchanges. Ishtaye said that the current world situation is turbulent and wars are still burning in some areas. He expressed his gratitude to the Chinese side for upholding justice for the Palestinian people and for its commitment to maintaining world peace.

Chinese and foreign representatives attending the forum also attended the China-Arab youth sharing session on the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and China-Arab people-to-people exchange dialogue, and the seminar on the situation in the Middle East and China’s role.
